Glenda Card

Glenda Card was born at Flowers Lime Walk in the Belize district of Belize to Herman and Grace Card. She grew up in Belize City where she was educated.
In 1977 Card relocated to Los Angeles, California with her two daughters where taking care of them was her first priority. After her children grew up, she decided that it was time to start concentrating on her artwork again.
Glenda Card is a self-taught artist, who from an early age, demonstrated a passion and talent for drawing and painting. Her medium of choice is pencil, pastel and oil. She was inspired by the famous Belizean Artist Louis Belisle. Card drew upon this inspiration and enrolled in an art summer workshop at the Bliss Center for the performing Arts in Belize. She later participated in exhibitions held at the Bliss during the early 1960’s and in Jamaica in the early 1970’s.
In June of 2012, Card exhibited some of her works at the Consulate of Belize in Los Angeles.
